Sophia Burton Brick wall
Hi:
been stuck at the following people for over two years. help would be greatly appreciated!!
Sophia Burton B: 1846 in London, Ontario Canada, D: 1906 (have death record). married Charles Johnson B: 1846 somewhere in Germany. according to 1881 Canada census Sophia's sister, Ida Burton B:1864ish resided with Sophia and Charles and their kids. Cannot find marriage certificate or any earlier records than 1881 canada census (they were located in Essex Co, Windsor Ontario in 1881). Would like to move further back in time to Sophia's parents/other sibs etc and see where she married Charles - in US? europe? thanks!!!

update on this info:
found marriage certificate for Charles and Sophia. they were married in Detroit Michigan on July 23, 1872. Witnesses were James McKinzie and Anna Meiers. Certificate says both Charles (named as Christian Johnson on certificate. also have other evidence that suggests his birth name was Christian) and Sophia were born in Germany. I suspect Anna Meiers may have been Charles' mother. she lived with him later in life in Ontario (and family lore says the Johnson name was taken on upon immigration from Germany as there were lots of Meyers/Meiers/Myers around and sounded too European.). Would like to find hard evidence on who were their parents? and where in Germany did they come from?
