Alan - I think I'm 12th generation also.....is that right??? I know you are older than me so I'm not sure I counted correctly but I think I did.

I am curious about my second and third cousins descended from Emerson Rood Calkins (1842-191) and his father, Philander Nelson Calkins (1816/7-1888)

I suggest always identifying ourselves in some standard way in our signature. there is probably some standard method that I don't know, but my signature shows that I am in the 12th generation, descended from Hugh, my/our immigrant ancestor.
