Confused...DUBE from Canada possible two families at the same time?

Hi Everyone, I'm taking over some research that a family member has given me on our Dube line. I just started to put in information pertaining to Demasse Dube who would have been my 3gr-grandfather. According to the records that were found, he married a Clothilde Brisson in 1858 in Quebec. Had four children with her. But I also have him married to a Marie Emerence Lemire and had possibly eight children with her, one being my 2xgr-grandmother (this I know is true). The problem is, I can't find information other than a boarder crossing and a US Census record to confirm Marie Emerence Lemire as his wife.

DETAILS: Demase DUBE b: about 1838 in Quebec, Canada d: 13 May 1914 in Biddeford, Maine Married: Clothilde BRISSON on 13 Sep 1858, Quebec, Canada b: 10 April 1837, Canada d: 29 Oct 1917 Ottawa, Canada children with Clothilde ( Clothilde, Ferdinand, Julie and Sarah) - years of birth range from 1863-1876 Married: Marie Emerence Lemire b: about 1942, Canada d: unknown children with Marie (Clarina*, Mary Louise, Melane, Melonia, Dwain, Omer, Edward, and Joseph) - years of birth range from 1862-1876 Any suggestions? --Michelle

Is this him? Marriage 1861 Sainte, Ste-Monique, Nicolet.

There is also a Jean Baptise Dube (appears to be a brother of Demasse, same parents) married in 1856 in Nicolet to Marie Lemire. There are a couple of Jean Baptise Dube who died betweem 1856 & 1861, perhaps Marie was married to Jean first.

Hi again;

I think some of your information may be incorrect. I found a marriage for a Damase Dube (indexed as Duncan Dube), married to Clothilde BRISSON in 1858, the parents of Mr Dube are different than the other docs I posted. On this one his parents are listed as Louis Dube and Feliece Chantal. If Clothilde didn't die until 1917 and they were Catholic, it is unlikely these two Damase are the same, as divorce was not allowed for Catholics.

Thank you for all the research. I believe you are correct. There were two Damase Dube that I keep mixing up. The first document that you posted between Damase Dube and Emergence Lamire are my 3x great grandparents.

Could you tell me how to go about accessing the Drouin collection? I've been able to access Tanguay's volumes but I don't have an Ancestry paid subscription anymore so I'm having a hard time finding Drouin's collection.
