Did you know that the M. Duplessis who is listed on the marriage record of Jean-Baptiste Catudal and Marie Angelique Sabourin dit Chauniere was François Duplessis Faber 1689 - 1762. The 'M.' stands for Monsieur and had nothing to do with a first initial.

Also of note is that François Duplessis Faber had a brother who's name was François Antoine Duplessis Faber 1703 -1733. The two are often confused in the Genealogical record. The later died at the hands of the Renards (Fox) and the Sakis at present day Wisconsin.

The François Duplessis Faber who was the Captian for whom Jean-Baptiste Catudal dit St. Jean worked moved in his later years to France to retire, a place he had never been to before.

Where was Francois Duplessis Faber born? I was certain that he was French (France).
François Duplessis Faber was born at Champlain, Québec, Canada. His father, also a commander was born around 1642 at St-Jean-en-Greve, Paris, France and died in 1712 in Montréal. I've attached the PRDH record of his birth.
