Hi everyone,

Ok this is going to sound like a silly question but were there any census's in Germany and the Czech Republic. I don't know where to find them if they exist.

Thanks

Norwegian censuses had dire\ctions on how to conduct the census. Sometimes the priester, sometimes the head of household. It could be important to know now and then who was responsible for the information

I have done a transcription of the census of 1811 of Hutton parish, Berwickshire, Scotland. This lists the name of the head of the family, the type of work the family was involved in and how many males and females in the household. This is the notebook that the schoolmaster used to take the census but only the total numbers were sent to the government. Happy to search the database if any has family in this area.

There is a booklet published by the Federation of Family History Societies in the UK called "Local Census Listings 1522-1930 Holdings in the British Isles" by Jeremy Gibson and Mervyn Medlycott 3rd ed.

1911 census of Britain - only England and Wales has been released, Scotland will not be available until January 1912.

Hi All:

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie

In Ireland there are only 2 Census records on file, 1911 and 1901.

The 1911 Census is been Indexed as we speak, Ouch!!, and is been put on the Web at the above Address for free, Yes Free, Nothing , No Cost. Zilc. It is Payless and Painless. And Counties are been added as they are Indexed.

We Irish like to help out in this time of Resession. So come on In and have a nose, see what you may find. There are no Fairies here mind you.
