I have a Childers brick wall that I can't seem to climb over! Nancy Frances JESSICA Childers born 29 Jan 1869 in Shelby Co, I think Tennessee.... the line between Mississippi/ Tennessee was changed and it went through the Childer property... Her parents were Levi Childers and Belle Sanders , married about 1867/68. Sibling named Eugene A. Childers born 1873. Levi and Belle may also have siblings who married each other...they were slave owners though I have been told that many of the individuals who were on their place did not leave but stayed there after the civil war. I am looking for information on both Belle and Levi. Belle may have been part Native Amreican and from North Carolina and there' several Levi Childers in the same area. One line of Childer's are Part Native American and Associated with the Vann Family. I don't believe that is this particular Childers family.. EIther Belle or Levi died in early 1900's as Jessica or her husband had to travel to "take care of things due to the death" Jessica was married to Daniel James Hallman in Arkansas about 1876. Faulkner Co. If you are a Childers linked to the Native American line I may be able to share some information I've gathered during my search.
