My own line of clayton's is from Leeds and surrounding areas but also in my tree are Clayton's from Birmingham Warwickshire. Is there a direct connection? or not?
To me each family history is a beautiful tapestry woven through time and the threads that join each together are truly golden threads. Finding the golden threads is my aim. let's do it together.

This is the marriage certificate formy great great grandparents.
There is no father listed for either making it dificult to trace this line further.
i know rosa was illegitimate but no explanation known for John.
I'm wondering if maybe he left his off in sympathy with his wife

My great great grandfather John Clayton was born in Otley Yorkshire in 1847 but later moved to Leeds. His marriage record to Rosa Lavinia Moore from 1884 does not show his father's name.and I've been unable to track him prior to his marriage. We have some possibilities but none that show birthplace as Otley. any suggestions or can anyone in the Yorkshire area check local records
