Hey there everyone. One of the biggest fears for a Genealogist is losing the electonic copies of their ancestrial databases. If you haven't already checked out options available for "remotely" located installs for popular genealogy programs, do some research. I am not promoting any specific applications but I know that Ancestrial Quest and the new Ancestry Family Tree Maker have the options to install the application and databases to a jump drive.
What a great feature! Jump drives are cheap and readily available. The best part is that they are extremely reliable. Although I don't recommend this, I have had my jump drive washed, dried, and thrown againist a wall .. and it still works. Try doing that with a computer hard drive.
The process is straight forward to install on a jump drive. It is something to consider for your research. If you run in to a snag, post a question and I will get back to you.
Computer Problems? I can help with those too. I have been in the technical support arena for over 12 years. If I can't answer it I have someone in my rolodex that can answer it.
Happy searching!
