Although I know about those who have already joined, and I believe they know about me, I thought it might help others to join if we all shared how we are Corel Cousins!
Here is how I am descended:
William Corel & Rebecca Oney
James Pickens Corel & Susannah Clay McGee
James Henry Corel & Emma Augusta Miller
Kathryn Corel & William Conrad Hahn
Billie Kay Hahn & Clinton Ray Laughlin
Connie Kay Laughlin & Donald Charles Bishop
ME!!
My Mom, grandparents, great aunt, and her son and his wife all still live on land that the Corel's first claimed back in the 1850s! My cousin and his wife live in the old farm house that was built by James Henry Corel in 1895.
I was first bit by the genealogy bug while in high school and was told to ask my great grandma, Kathryn, questions - when I did, she gave me a letter from a woman in California who was researching Corel's. That woman turned out to be Bobby Dobbins Title who is now my genealogy mentor and a dear cousin! She has brought the Corel family history to life for me and inspired me to create the website Corel Cousins to be able to share the family history with others and search for long lost cousins! To date, the website (and doing research for the website) has found five new cousins!!
