Burns/Byrne family from Ballincollig

My grandfather William Burns was a cooper who was born in Ballincollig in1877. His parents were Timothy Burns, also a cooper and Margaret Mellifont. I am trying to find information on these families. I am hoping to visit Cork in May 2010. Any information would be most welcome
