I have Cox in my tree (in-laws):

Captain George Hamilton Cox - 13th Baronet - 1779 - 1841 born in either England or India and died India

Son: General Edmund Henry Cox - 1829 (India) - 1893 London England

Son: Edmund Arthur Wilson Cox - 1870 - 1932 Born and died in England but Served in India

Son: Edmund Francis Wilson Cox - 1904 Sarawak, Borneo - 2004 Canada

Edmund Arthur Wilson Cox had a family in India which was not recognized by the British family and he married and had a family by his British wife - my spouse's line.

We suspect other members in India also had families there and Cox's Bazaar is named after some of the family members who served in India.

Very large families and served in the British Army and Navy in India.  If anyone has information please contact me.
