My Cramer line starts with Henry Snodderly who married Ann R. Cramer. Henry was born on December 25, 1824. That is all the information that I have.
My most distant Cramer ancestor is Adolf Cramer, my great-grandfather. He was a German immigrant from Prussia, who appeared in Houston, Texas around the time of the civil war, married a fairly well-off widow who bore him three children. By the time of the census 10 years later. his wife was working as a seamstress and he was gone . It isn't clear if that was due to death or desertion. I have Adolf's y-chromosome, which places me (and him) in haplogroup G2c.
I'm researching Kramer's who join my family tree in Saarland, Germany when Anna Margarethe Kramer married Georg Altmeyer in the very early 1700s. Anna Margarethe was born in Saarlouis in 1683 to Johan Sebastian Kremer and Margarethe Mayer (Altmeyer).
My earliest Cramer thus far is Johannes Cramer, b. abt 1678 in the Rhineland region of Germany, emigrating to the Montgomery Co, NY area in 1710. In the mid-1800's the family moved to Noble Co, IN.
