Cross-Davidson County, NC

I'm looking for Crosses in the southern part of Davidson County, NC.  I have a mystery David Cross b abt 1806 who married a Susannah Goss.  They are buried there.  One of their children moved to southern MO in the mid-1800s after her marriage, with some of her mother's relatives.  But I have had no luck making clear connection with Crosses in the area.  Advice?
