Alabama USA. In 1930 he is on the census report as living in Trion, Georgia,

Hi Gill

I've recorded your tree as far back as John Cruse and Eleanor Gambon. John was buried in 1804 in Chitterne, Wiltshire. I've not been able to find a marriage for John and Eleanor. Their son William was baptised in 1761 in Chitterne. I have him married to Jane Potter. I don't seem to have any record of an Elizabeth Few. If you get in touch with me via my Cruwys/Cruse one-name study page linked above I can send you a report on this line and we can compare notes.

My gt granfather was Silas cruse whose father was Jacob cruse
His mother was annie who jacob married after his first wife lydia died in 1853
I have looked at his ancestors being william and jane and further back john and eleanor andfurther back william cruse and elizabeth few but am not sure i am correct and cannot get any further back?
I wonder if anyone else has any ideas

Welcome to our new Cruse genealogy group on Facebook. Do share with us on the discussion board details of the Cruse lines which you are researching. You can add photos to your postings. If you make a mistake you can easily go back and edit your discussions. I'm the co-ordinator of the Cruse/Cruwys one-name study. I have information on lots of different Cruse lines, some of which are very extensive, but I'm sure that you will all have more information to share.
