Daly is the surname of my great great nana. Mary Ellen Daly was b. 23 Jul 1871 in San Francisco, CA and died 4 Jun 1954 in San Francisco, CA. Her father was William Daly. I was blessed with a distant cousin who located me after my maternal grandfather had died. He has done extensive research on this line and has been nice enough to share his research with me.

Patrick Daly and his son John Wesley Daly came from Leinster Province, Ireland around 1850. Thus far I've been unable to find any clues to a more specific location in Ireland.

Patrick, b ca 1806, d. 1871 Loudoun Co., VA, m. Ann (-?-). Besides his son, Patrick had at least two daughters, Eliza, b. 1828 who m. Andrew J. Wall; and Mary Daly, b. 1845.

John Wesley Daly b. 1 May 1836, Leinster Province, d. May 1896, Loudoun Co., VA, m. 17 May 1859, Clementine Augusta Mattocks in Prince William Co., VA. They had one daughter Annie Jerusha Daly, b. 18 Feb 1861. She and Ambrose Cornelius applied for a marriage license 14 Jan 1881 in Washington, DC and married in July 1881. They had nine children including my grandfather Robert Emmett "Daly" Gant, b. 3 Dec 1891 in Arcola, Loudoun Co.
