Hello,
As you all know, many French soldiers fought in the Revolution (ours, not theirs) and their descendants qualify for membership to the DAR. There is a book at the military archives here in Paris called (in French) "The Dictionary of officers of the royal army who fought in the United States during the War of Independence, 1776-1783", and it lists the men who fought, giving a brief biography, and the source.
Since I go to those archives, I am happy to do any look ups on your ancestors. Please note that it is officers only (with a supplement of about 35 names of ordinary soldiers.)
Anne
