This is a long shot, but I'm hoping someone might have my 3rd great grandfather in their family tree.

We all know how inaccurate some of the censuses are for various reasons.

I have been researching him for almost two decades now. Not only does he remain a mystery, but so does his wife, Winera Munro Scantlin.

Each census for the  two grandparents are given different birth dates and places of birth and an array of spellings for given names. Theophilus Davis on two censuses give you 6 different spellings.

If anyone is familiar with these names and know something about this couple thought to be married in 1838 in Missouri, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Bonnie

The 1850 Census names for Theophilus:

The census reads Thepholas Davis, but two people edited the census names as Theophelis or Theopholus Davis.

The 1860 Census names for Theophilus:

The census reads Thesppalies Davis, but two people edited the census names as Theophelis or Theophilus, Theopolis

DOB:  06 Jul 1819 - Possibly Missouri

DOD: 10 Mar 1864 - Mount Judea, Newton, Arkansas, USA

His wife Winera Munro Scantlin's censuses leaves one spinning. Winny, Winners, Munra, Winera, and Winary - all different birth dates. We do not know her birth date/place of birth or death/place of Winera Munro Davis.
