Degge

I am trying to establish a (very) minor one name study of the Degge family name. Degge is my maternal family name and most of my ancestors were born in the Staffordshire villages of Rugeley, Colton, Blithfield and Newton. However they dispersed in the mid 1800's all over England, mainly to the London/Middlesex areas and Liverpool. Several Degges migrated to the USA where the name morphed into Diggis, Degg, Degges and several other variants. I am interested in any information where the name and its variants can be traced to Staffordshire.
