Michael Malcom was born about 1759, possibly in Dorchester, Massachusetts. His parents are unknown, but his mother may have been a woman named Sarah. As a child he was bound out to a family in Dedham, Massachusetts and was raised there. He served in the Revolutionary War. At the age of 20 he moved to Orange, Massachusetts, where he married Lucy Chase in 1791. She was born in Greenwich, Massachusetts about 1756 and was the daughter of Daniel and Margaret (Lawson) Chase. Michael was last heard of about 1814. Lucy died in Orange in 1853. They had three children: Charles, George, and Freedom.
Charles Malcom (1792-1887) was born in Erving's Gore/Erving's Grant, which later became part of Orange. He married Lucy Rice (1791-1871) in Wendell, Massachusetts in 1810. Her parents were Samuel Robinson Rice and Lucy Brigham. Charles and Lucy lived at Wendell, then in Onondaga, Steuben, and Wyoming counties in New York. About 1837 they moved to Michigan, where they lived in Hillsdale and Jackson counties. They are buried at Concord, Michigan. They had 10 children: Horatio, Samuel, Elvira, Emily, Harriet, George, Eliza, Almeda, John, and Mary. Descendants have the surnames Malcom, Canright, Guinip/Guinup, Drake, and Meeker.
George Malcom (1794-18??) was born in New Salem, Massachusetts. He was last known to be living in Northampton, Massachusetts in 1812.
