Following YOUR representations, made to Devon County Council during January, the Record Office budget cuts were reduced from £289,000 to £189,000 for this year. We welcome the offer of the public to have a greater role in the record offices via volunteering but remain concerned that this does not impair the integrity of the service. We now ask you take part in DCC's public consultation regarding the future of the services in Exeter and Barnstaple.
Representatives have been invited to attend a Devon Record Offices Review Meeting on 15th April. We will encourage DCC to continue to provide high quality services and find efficiencies to enable this to happen within a restricted budget.
