marker split

we had the family tree 37  and only matched with one person completely.  the first marker matched everyone else but then switched.

could cousins marrying cousins causes this?  we have been trying to get my greatgrandfather's family for 30 yrs and the only hint is the dna of this other person but even that is a deadend

could anyone please help
