My Great Great Grandfather is William Dowdle who was born in Westport, Mayo around 1845 and emigrated to England (Manchester). He first shows on the census record of 1861 as a 16 year old living with his Uncle John Dowdle. I have plenty of information regarding William's life in England, but know nothing of his family in Ireland.
