I welcome all here. I know our blackfoot roots are not related to the blackfoot of montana or canada. In my family the story is my 3rd great grandma , adeline,gave birth to a set of twins. The father took one and adeline kept the other, which ended up being my 2 great grandma emma irene. In the 1880 census, of ohio county kentucky, adeline was listed as the wife of leonard gatewood and the two children listed were emma and a son leonard. I have found adeline mentioned anywhere else . I dont have maiden name for. I only know she was borm in kentucky and her parents were born in tennessee.
