My grandfather, Anders Gustaf Klang, was born at Mellangården, Varnum, on 23 December 1876. He immigrated to the United States in 1897, leaving Göteborg, Sweden, on 28 April 1897, and arriving at the Port of Boston, Massachusetts, on May 23, 1897, He married Mathilda Fredrika Petersson on 4 March 1905 in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA. Mathilda was born 16 September 1875 in Ekered, Brunns parish or Tvärreds parish. On a May 26-June 5, 2009, visit to Sweden, I met my newly found cousin, Elsie Knutsson, of Essunga (near Nossebro), and she was the most wonderful tour guide and host my daughter and me could have possibly had, taking us to Varnum, Ulricehamn, Tärby, Borås, Tamta, etc., etc. In addition to Elsie, my daughter and I met other relatives for the first time, thanks to research done for me by Yvonne Henriksson of Vegby. We met Yvonne in Ulricehamn, and she provided us with a tour in an around Ulricehamn, showing us church in Tvärreds that my grandmother attended as well as cottage where she lived and the cottage where my great-grandmother was born! And Yvonne took us to meet Roland Svedberg of Tvärreds who is also a cousin of mine.
