I was planning on going as well, but I haven't been doing well physically. My adopted father also died 17 Jul. Today's the first time in a long time that I've had the heart to do the genealogy thing.

I sure hope they had a great time. I'm hoping to go up soon and I will defin. be a next years!

I did go all 3 days of the Gathering. But I just live in the next county (Madison). I really enjoyed it and received some new info and ids of pictures I have.

I'm glad you had a good time. And congrats on the new info and pictures! Are you the Gladys Davis that sent me the Sparks pictures? I've been trying to work with them to identify the headstone behind both the children and the woman. She is defin a Sparks! I just can't quite make out the headstone though. It doesn't really look like it's at the homeplace. Were you able to get an ID on them?

No, I haven't identified them yet. I have another picture of her with a gentleman. Do you want to look at it? Just send me an email. Someone did say that they thought the pictures were taken at the Double Oaks Cemetery. I am planning on going up there and check out the militay stones. Where is the homeplace located for you? I have only been to the Sparks Cemetery on Barnes Mountain down under a hill at Leighton. OH yes, I am the same Gladys Davis. The pictures I got ids on were of the McIntosh family (which is my husband's side).

There are several Sparks Cemeteries up there. My daughter and I are coming up next week to head up onto the mountain. I need to redo some photographs as well as photograph others. Contact me privately if you'd like to get together while we're up there. I'll give you my #

The homeplace I was talking about was Daniel Crawford & Louvina (Carter) Sparks' home on the border between Estill County and Jackson County at Drip Rock.

You know, I never thought about Double Oaks, but my Sally Richardson Hoover Reece is out there so I was going to go there as well.

Hey Jen,

Wondering if you can help me with my Dad's wife's family. She is Mary Ruty Ballard, who's parents were Edward Ballard and Ada Vine Sparks. Ada b. 18 May 1903 in Irvine and d. 1989. Her father was James Sparks d. abt 1927 and mother Kate Fowler d. abt 1917. If you have information on the Ballards it would be helpful as well. Edwards' father was Palestine Ballard and his mother was Drucilla Nunn, both died in Madison County, him at Happy Landing and her at Walnut Meadow. but that's all I know about any of them.

I am researching Sarah Walters who married Martin Hall Sarah was the daughter of William B and Nancy Walters not too sure from there. I am working on the Walters Cemetery at Walters Ridge have all the headstone photos and am putting a book together.

Hey, I know a Hukill (although she spells Hukle). Are they the same? Her name is Evie and she is about 85 and her husband's name was Arthur B. Hukle and she lives in Clark County. Maybe she can help you. Just let me know if I can help you in any way.

It is possible that this is the same Family. I will look in my genealogy stuff and let you know thanks for the offer to help
