My Evans was Mary. She married Edwin Meredith and had several children including Jane Meredith my husband's ggrandmother. The family immigrated to the U.S. in the 1800s and Edwin was an traveling minister for the Methodist church in Green County, Wisconsin. Jane Meredith married John Eastman Persons.

My Evans is Elizabeth born in 1840 in Flint, Wales. She married Lewis Thomas sometime around 1863 in Liverpool. The couple moved to Oswestry, Shropshire and lived there for a number of years. In 1888 or 1889, the family moved to the US. I was looking for a marriage record for Lewis and Elizabeth. I think I've found them, though (we'll see when the marriage certificate I ordered shows up). I'm also looking for information about Elizabeth's parents. I believe they are John Evans b. 1816 and Elizabeth Hasting(s?) b. 1817. I believe John was born in Mold, Fintshire and Elizabeth Hastings was born in St. Asaph, Denbighshire. I'm particularly looking for death records for both individuals. Since they were living in Liverpool at the time of their deaths it's a little tough to nail down dates for each.
