Researching Rebecca Evans b. PA in 1794 and married David Carr b. 1793 in NJ or NY. Do not know her parents or siblings. They had more than a dozen children and eventually immigrated to and died in MI.

Hi Paula-

Where in PA was Rebecca from? Montgomery County had many Evans' families that arrived around 1698 from Wales. When I get home this afternoon, I can do some research for you-

Kate
I don't know where in PA - but I'm thinking close to the NY/NJ border. David and the Carrs (father Samuel, mother Mary Post) lived in Wantage, Sussex, NJ 1802 -1816 and that is probably where they lived when they (David Carr and Rebecca Evans) married ca. 1814 and had son James 1815. Then they all moved to Wayne Co, NY (where Samuel and Mary died) before they moved to MI. I did a little research with the little info I had but couldn't find anything conclusive. I tried D & R's children's names as first names for Rebecca's father and no luck there but this was on the internet only. I don't think James was a Carr name but it may have been (haven't confirmed Samuel's parents or siblings); girl's names that were out of the family "list" were Corodon, Cordelia, and Amanda. The rest of the crew were obviously named for Carrs and Posts. Any info you can provide would be appreciated. These colonial farmers (& miners?) are hard to trace. Tks again, Paula
hi-

I just took a look at Family Search and found an IGI for a Rebecca Evans who was born February 21, 1794 in Eaton Township, Wyoming County, PA.

According to the entry, Rebecca's parents were Captain John and Anne Birney Evans. I don't know the source for it-but its a place to start. I know there are Evans books around online that may have more info, have you tried googling David Carr?

Kate
I googled Rebecca Evans 1774 and found a couple of sites that listed her as one of 14 children of John and Ann (Fanny) Birney Evans. Her birthday was 12 Feb which I had found listed for her on Family Search, as wife of David. They lived in NJ and PA which is where David was from. She had a brother James too. So, could be my Rebecca. Thanks for your help!! Paula
