Looking for descendants of Benjamin Franklin BAKIE born abt.1869 in the Pembina territory of Dakota Territory (North Dakota) the son of John BAKIE and Mary TAPPEN. He died in Chewelah, Stevens County on 22 January, 1947. Father John was born about 1830 in Caithness, Scotland and arrived in Canada about 1850 and worked for Hudson Bay Company,

Benjamin married Samantha about 1902 in Kidder County, ND. Their children all born in ND between 1902-1915 were:
1. John W.
2. Benjamin H.
3. Franklin E.
4. Gilbert T.
5. Florence

Samantha died in ND between 1914-1920 and Benjamin and family moved to Stevens County, WA.
Gilbert married 31 December, 1931 to Eva WHITE in Colville. He died on 22 May, 1994 in Valley, WA and Eva died December, 2004 same place. According to Eva's obituary their home was on Bakie Road where she lived until 2000. They were both buried at Valley Cemetery in Stevens County.
His brother Franklin Bakie died in April, 1985 in Valley also, but have no information on who he married or children.

I am looking for information on this branch of the family for my cousins as I am only indirectly related to Benjamin F. Bakie. Father John Bakie (mentioned above) married 2nd to Marie LaFRAMBOISE about 1874 Pembina Territory and she is my 3rd gr-grandmother via daughter Margaret b, 1868 which is John's stepdaughter.

I am located in Rosalia south of Spokane btw :)

Thanks,

Vera

Have you contacted the NeWGS in Colville? They have a lot of information on Stevens County residents.
