Uploading FTM2010 from flash drive to 2nd computer

Judy,

Are you trying to work on your Family File that's on your Flash Drive? If so, you would open Version 2010 on your RI PC, then click on File, Open, and select the file on your Flash Drive. I can't tell, for sure, it that is what you are trying to do.

Only a comment about the Flash Drive. I would NOT suggest that you keep your Working Family File on your Flash Drive, but only use the Flash Drive to move the file from one PC to another. I would further suggest that you use the File, Back Up command and back up to the Flash Drive, then File, Restore on the "other" PC.

Thank you so much, Russ. I used to email my files as an attachment when I left one place for the other. It is now too big to do that so this year I tried the flash drive as a vehicle to move them.
You are the answer to an old lady's prayers when it comes to FTM and computer knowledge.

Yup, Flash Drives are good for this purpose. I just don't consider them as a good safe place for my files nor a back up. But good for transferring files.
