448 the tugboat men have had several narrow escaped lately from grounding schooners in their charge on Navy Island (St. John), owing to the channel having been taken up by the fishermen and have banded themselves together and drawn up the fellowing document. They declare they shall not hold themselves liable for any future damage to the nets: We, the undersigned owners or captains of the steam tugs in the harbour St. John have declared hereafter we shell keep on our course with our tows, after giving the fishermen due warning by means of our steam-whistles.
