I've gotten funny looks from time to time if I'm just wandering or taking pictures. At a small cemetery we visited several years ago the neighbor that took care of the grounds came out to tell us the story of one of the residents there and how he was shot and scalped by Indians. A very pleasant surprise to run into someone willing to chat. Recently we went to a cemetery in a rural area only to find a flock of chickens there as well! They weren't bothering us and my daughter and myself were actually quite amused by them, but their owners came and rounded them up and took them home to their adjacent farm.
If you believe in supernatural experiences, have you ever had one while in a cemetery? Or seen strange things in the photos you took when you looked at them later?

This happened to a friend of mine who is in her 60's. She was watering flowers on her family graves and moving around the cemetery when one foot broke through the soil into a grave. Her entire leg went into the grave to her hip. Someone helped her get out and she was not injured. She had broken through not only the soil on top of the casket but through the casket top as well. It took more than a large wheel barrow load to fill the hole. I understand she no longer cuts across ANY grave sites.
The thing that pops into my head right off, i was going thru Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn, Mass. was driving around the bend, and a deer hops on by. this is a big cemetery with lotsa trees, but in a busy populated city, surrounded by main streets. no other woodland for some ways. it just totally took me by surprise.

odd things that happen that i love, accidently meeting a cousin, or someone who knows your family. i met 2 different ones like this, 1 cousin, and my great uncle's best friend... both at the same cemetery, Greenlawn in Nahant, Mass. what treasures.

most disturbing thing... last month, i was hunting for photo requests, and walked by a childhood friends grave. my childhood best friend's brother, who i had such a crush on. let me tell you, it's a horrible way to find out that your friend died. :\

and funny thing... i was visiting my cousin in Jennings Cemetery in Statesville, TN, a rural cemetery, surrounded by farm land. was sitting there, enjoying the peace... and had a cow by up next to me... Got Milk? lol i about laughed my rear off lol

also, like someone mentioned below, got locked in with my mum once, about 20 years. thankfully the "gate" was just a big think chain link rope. so i stood out there and held up the chain as high as i could so mum could scrape the car underneath it. let's just say that mum doesn't go to cemeteries much anymore... and i pay attention to hours, and if walking, walls i can climb lol
