Will take photos at cemeteries on the SF peninsula.

BTW: The last t-shirt I had was from Headstone Hunters.

Generally take photographs in my area here in WV. In Monroe and Greenbrier Counties. Started just looking for family stones, but have progressed to shooting entire cemeteries. I get some strange looks from other people as I walk the little country cemeteries and take pictures of ALL the graves! I usually make sure I wear my Find A Grave t-shirt [with the tombstone and big "?" on it]. I've been stopped several times, "Okay, I'll bite. What's the question about tombstones?"

I've always been a cemetery seeker though. Even before I got into genealogy. I think it rubbed off from my Mom [?]. She used to see a cemetery when I was a kid and stop the car and say, "Let's go walk through there and see who we know." She wasn't big on genealogy, but she would tell me about different relatives and what she remembered about them.

First off there has to be a better name for Find-A-Grave addicts than FaG Hags! That being said, I thought I was doing pretty good with my 3 or 4 hundred postings from a recent research trip in northeast Ohio, until I found out my daughter's 22 year old boyfriend has closer to a thousand postings! I told her "he's a keeper!"

Finding the cemeteries and tombstones for family has long been a passion. Currently working on getting them all uploaded to Ancestry.com tree and then will post on Find a Grave.

I'm a newbie at this (#47099064), 4 months, but have tons of headstone pictures. Been taking them, off and on, for 9 years. Now I'm trying to get them organized and posted on Find-A-Grave. I also Blog about them on Tombstone Tuesdays. Being retired, my wife and I will go walk a cemetery. Lots them them in a 50 mile radius. Will check the Cemetery on Find-A-Grave and go 'looking'. Camera in hand, will look for any requests, but will pick up any of our family names. What has been interesting, is the one Photo Request had a Surname, but the next 5 cemeteries we visited the same Surname was there. Pictures taken, waiting to post.

I actually ran into a Find-A-Grave picture taker, while we both were looking for the same headstone. I had printed the request, but didn't know that I was going to have time to tack the picture, and shortly after I printed the request, it was claimed. At the cemetery, I saw another car, doing the same thing I was doing. Drive a bit, Walk a bit, move on, looking for headstones.

Had to ask -- both of us were looking for the same headstone.

Thank you for this Forum.

Only 7 years 2 months for me. I haven't done much on the site for a couple of years since I injured my eye ... the photography is one problem, and transcribing the headstones is a nuther issue. I will get back to it someday. I have interment listings from walked cemeteries in California, Florida, Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Oregon and others that I forget now. Other listings are from my family members.

How much do I love FAG and taking photos?? So much so that my 3 year old will announce for me when we drive past a cemetery and fail to stop. "Mom! It's a cemetery! You need to stop!"

I've been a member (#27852883) of Find A Grave for 8 years, 9 months. Most of my memorials are family members.
