Today I was using Footnote to search for an actor on my FIL's side, and I found some classified ads, in which he was searching for cast members for a show he was a 'Stage Director' for. So, now I know he was in Atlanta in June 1903, and most probably with the show during its run from June 23-27.

I was able to find more on the show by searching the title of the show. I didn't find anything else on the actor, but there were more articles on the show, which was good background for theater shows in 1903.

It may take some experimentation with what searches to do, sometimes less is more in this case. Instead of doing a search for everything you 'know' try doing a search on smaller pieces of your puzzle. Try doing a search by year, or exact date, or last name.
