Chounard

I dont know if there are any connections or not, all I know is that my late mother-in law told me that her mother's name was Exilene Chennault, but I later found out when I obtained my mother in laws SS application, that she gave her mothers last name as Chounard, and her fathers name as Edras Flambeau, but she had told me that her fathers name was Monteque,and that she had a uncle Edwards, that is how come she gave her son the name of Montgomery Edwards,when her husband adopted him at the age of 20 as his last name was not legal because she did not marry his father,and he had to have a legal name to join the Navy,,, very complicated...I have searched on ancestery.com for the name Monteque Flambeau and came up empty have not tried Edras,but a genegolist here on genealogy wise found the name Edras Thiffault,which could be him...my son also thinks that since I couldnt find anything here in the states that her parents could have come from Canada,and later to New Hampshire, I dont know if I will ever solve this mystery.about my in laws..
