Have you looked at my explanations of the civil records, one by one? These posts might help you work out the records. I do know of one person who retypes the French and then uses one of those online translating programmes.

Hi Victor,
Well, the film quality varies. I think they were mostly very good in the beginning but, with repeated use in some pretty rubbishy microfilm readers, they become worn and damaged and faded. If you look at the various French archives départementales films online, they are almost all beautiful and almost all were filmed by the Latter Day Saints.

The FHL did not film everything, by any means and, it seems just my luck that most of what I want to see either has not been filmed at all or just by the department and is awaiting duplication. Sigh. Generally, however, the FHL collection does not suit my work on French genealogy. I can get better quality films or just go to the archives here. So, I am not a heavy enough user to comment on them very much.

Have you checked the Aube AD site lately? They have the ten-year indices up, as well as the military registrations and censuses, where you might find more. If an ancestor left a will that required probate, it is worth looking in the table des successions to see if there is more.

Well, you can try to ask the archives, but I have never heard of one of them performing such a favour. You will have better luck with one of the cercles or a genealogist. Read the blog post about the cercles and use the link to search to find one for Aube and ask one of their volunteers to make the copy for you. Since you allready have the index listing, that will make it much easier for the researcher.
