I have traced the Garson family back to the time of the American Revolution.  Peter, Thomas and John all served with the contential line with the artillery.   I did discover the service records for all listed under the name Garrison.  They may have lived in Westchester County, NY and later in NY.  They were active in the Columbian Society.

Henry Garson was a printer born in NYC around 1776.  He moved to Philadelphia, PA around 1818. He died in 1824. Thomas his son also moved to Philadelphia.  He was a bookbinder.  He died in 1832.  Thomas is my direct ancestor.

Henry, John and James Garson served during the War of 1812 also with the artillery.

I have contacted someone who ancestor was Thomas's brother Lewis.  Lewis married Catherine Tourison.  The Tourison's were a promenant family in Germantown.  Lewis was an Engineer for the Railroad who died in a train wreck in 1842.  Catherine died in 1845.  William and Lewis the sons went in orphanges.  Not sure what happend to Catherine.  I did find out that she did marry Robert C. Murray.  William ended up in Western Pennsylvania on a farm until he was 18.  Both Lewis and William served in the Union Army.  Both ended in Colorado and later in Los Angeles, California where they died and are buried in a Veteran's Cemetary.

Some of the family also moved to New Orleans, LA.  Sarah Garson, Thomas's widow and two of her sons James and Ferdinand (Ferd) moved there.  Also Sarah's daughter Hannah Flower moved there as well.
