Take advantage of a free surname listing service provided by the Southern California Genealogical Society. You can list your surnames (including geography and time frame) and you can search for other listings. Best of all, if you want, you can protect your privacy by asking SCGS to serve as intermediary if a potential cousin wants to get in touch.

Submit your entries at www.scgsgenealogy.com. Look on the right-hand size of the webpage for the link to the Virtual Surname Wall.

You don't need to be a member of SCGS to take advantage of this service, and you can list your relatives from anywhere in the world, not just California.
