My interest lies in the Volga area, and in trying to find how my families came to
Russia. and when they did so.I have SCHMALTZ TO CO AND NM, RAUSCH, MILDENBERGER, BERG etc. Are there any records that exist about just what families went to Russia, from where in Germany etc. will willingly share what family info I have, mostly after arrival in the states. Sally Davis

A very good resource is the web site for the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. I'm not currently a member of the AHSGR, but my Dad is. The web site is free and has a lot of good info. I'll look around for other resources for you Sally!
I have visited ahsgr many times, but am not having much luck finding any connections. I wish I was a member. Geat site tho. I have learned a lot about the history of the Volga area. Thanks to you Becky. Sally
Sally I have Schmaltz, Rausch, Mildenberger and Berg also in my tree. I have lots of Schmaltz so maybe if you could give me some names and I will see what I have.
On the Rausch I have a Theresia Rausch born November 18, 1772 in Dielheim, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Baden Württemberg, Germany and passed away on March 17, 1840 in Dielheim, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Baden Württemberg, Germany. Now I do show her with a child Johann Mathaus with the .. over the a. Johann was born on September 4, 1796 in Dielheim, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Baden Württemberg, Germany and passed away on January 11, 1824 in Dielheim, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Baden Württemberg, Germany. Now I do not show a husband for Theresia but I am assuming it is a gentlemen with the last name of Eberle, since that is the childs last name.

Mildenberger - I also have lots of them - Just give me some names

Berg - I don't have many, just more recent and still living

Let me know if I can help
