Bittman / Biedmann surname

Framersheim, Alzey-Worms, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany

Nicholas, Antonius, and Johann Philip Bittman immigrated to America ca. mid-1700's and settled in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. They were sons of Andreas Bittman and Anna Gertraut Schworm, grandsons of Hans Heinrich and Anna Dorothea Bittmann, and greatgrandsons of Friedrich and Anna Catherina Bittmann; all of whom reportedly lived in or near Framersheim. The surname was Anglicized to Pittman or Pitman depending on the descendant.
