Krampitz, Krampetz or Eggert,Egert from Lipno Poland area (Dobriner land)

The Krampitz surname is not common but is most commonly found in Prussia, later families moving south along the Vistula as far as Russia. The surname is uncommon enough that I've collected every occurance I've found in the many online genealogy sites. If you have questions about the Krampitz or Krampetz suname, contact me (see below)

My own gggparents first appear in "Dobriner land", an area that was Poland's then Prussian then back & forth until Russia was in control until after WWI. There were many German colonies between Rypin, Lipno and Plock. So far, I'm still trying to find their Prussian roots.
I have my Krampitz ggparents in Barany, about 7km SW of Lipno, and my Eggert ggparents in Turza Wilcza SE of Lipno.

I'm surprized there is so little about the Germans from Poland, Russia or Russian controled lands

Perhaps you have already received the following information. I have found information for my Germans from Russia families on the following web sites:

http://www.volhynia.com/

http://www.sggee.org

If you google "Germans from Russia" you will find many other links for Germans from Russia.

Thank you Maxine, and yes, I've found the Volhynia.com & Sggee.org sites.
Volhynia is mostly of the Germans that made it to Russian territory, and the Sggee site covers some of them, but much more of the Germans that emigrated to Polish Volynia and what was mostly in Poland today.
Most links for "Germans from Russia" are those that did go to Russian Volhynia. But there were also many Germans in german villages thoughout "Dobrina-land" -- Torun, Sierpc, Rypin, Plock, Lipno area..

I found a few families named Krampetz in Russian Volhynia, but there was no connection. I only found only Krampitz surnames in the Polish territories. Then I learned (researching my grandfather backwards through the census to his emigration, then birth records, that he changed the spelling from 'ITZ' to 'ETZ' some 15 years after he came to the US! So, I concentrate on the Krampitz spelling.

I did find a distant relative of my grandmother Eggert that had much of her family back to her grandparents. I am still looking for any related to my grandfather,

My grandmother was Eggert and she was born in Turza Wilcza. My family is from "Dobriner Land".
