My Meyer line was in Eilsum, Ostfriesland in the late 1600's and then in early 1700's were in Greetsiel. They were either fishermen or they were building the ships. My g grandfather moved to Heppens which is on the out skirts of Wilhelmshaven about 1870 and in later years before my grandfathers immigation they both worked in the ship yards in Wilhelmshaven as master carpenters.
