If anyone wants a "first name@gerwitz.com" email address, let me know.

I've also been using that domain to consolidate the records I've found, which Ellen's work seriously added to (indirectly, at first). I'm mostly interested in the Missouri branch (my gggf was the immigrant Simon) but any relative is fair game: http://gerwitz.com/genealogy/descendancy.php?rootid=I8164&ged=h...

Clearly the New York branch has much better records and more photos than we kept in St. Louis. :-(

Hans,

Welcome!  Honestly, I think it was Lorenz's branch that had so many photos.  The Gerhard branch - not so much.  It took me quite a while to track down the ones I did and most of those came from Lorenz's descendants.

And as for records, what I did mostly, was to just contact all the different little sections and help them put together a large family tree like a puzzle.  It's my favorite way to do genealogy.  :-)

Thanks for sharing your link!

Ellen

Hans, I'm Sharon Denzien. My g-father was Edward Gerwitz, son of Joseph, son of Lorenz. I have followed Vincent Garwitz (Gerwitz) I know very little about Simon. My email is bookgoddess@frontier.com. I would appreciate yours. I have many pics of our family starting with Lorenz. They are buried here in Catt. & Erie NY. Great to meet a relative. Sharon
