not sure if what I have to say is a forum discussion or just information, or if yanyone will even see it. This is just to let everyone know that my 4 sisters 2 Brothers my mother and I have opened the National Black Doll Museum of History & Culture in attempt to leave a legacy to the Govan family. There are special family discounts for Govan family descendants. We "Celebrate black history through the eyes of a doll collector" We teach an African Wrap Doll workshop that nurtures self esteem and promotes cultural diversity which entails a folk tale passed down from my grandmother Elmyra Govan to my oldest sister. Things are starting to pick up at the museum now that the weather has broken or is trying to break. Our Museum is family owned and operated by my family which is YOUR family the Govan family.
The National Black Doll Museum of History & Culture is the First in New England, the 2nd in the Country, and the Largest in the World. Housing over 5,000 dolls of color displayed in an non threatening invironment, to enable people to open dialog to discuss our differances. out programing dcurrently meets the CORE Curriculum Standards for Education in Hartford CT and MA we working on meeting those standards on a federal level.support us by liking us on face book at national black doll nuseum
