Yes my mother was a Gragg. My side of the Graggs came from Monroe CO. Iowa. My GG Grandfather was Washington Jackson Gragg son of Thomas and Nancy Ellender Crow Gragg. Washington was born in Greene CO. Tenn. Washington married 2 times. 1st to Fanny Emelia Cousins Hummel. Fanny lost her 1st husband in the war. She then married Washington and had 5 kids. Fanny died in Delaware CO. Iowa. Washington then moved to Mercer CO. MO where he met my GG Grandmother Nancy Jane Myers Wright Gragg. Nancy was married to Joseph Wright he died looking for work in Memphis MO. My G Grandfather was Tolbert Rockhold Gragg. Tolbert married Ida Belle Thompson. My Grandfather was Rev Ira Thomas Gragg. He was the minister of the same church for 32 years.

I am very sure there is more than one Martha Jane that was either born a Gragg or married a man by the name of Gragg. Many of the Gragg's changed the spelling of the name to Gregg. Is your Gragg ancestor from Missouri?

Her maiden name was Martha Jane Gragg. She married William B. MaGill.

I don't think Missouri had birth or death records in the period we are talking about..

Georgie all I have is an abstract of the Will. I haven't seen Teds Book. I have sone my own research. I had to put genealogy on the back burner for a few years due to the loss of a son and my husbands illness. The complete Will for my Henry Gragg is in Book A46, Ray County, MO. wills. The Heirs listed were: Robert, William, Polly, John , James H. Mahala, Jefferson, Jacob, Rachel, Martha Jane, and Henry. This is from "Missouri Pioneers. Vol. 8.
