John, my GRANT line is connected to the ALLANs in Rothiemay and to ROBB. 2 brothers John and James ALLAN worked on a farm situated on Rattanach Hill. James ALLAN b. 1809 married Jane Hepburn the housekeeper. His brother John b 1802 married the farmer's daughter Ann Robb on 19 May 1825. Any connections?
Pat Grant, in Michigan
Hi Pat, Unfortunately the name ALLAN does not appear anywhere in my tree. I have one ANN ROBB who was born in 1850 so no match there. I am afraid that I can find no connection for you. Sorry. John Robb
John, We have Robb in our Allan-Grant line. We had our DNA done for Grant. Our haplogroup is R1b1b2. Have you had DNA done on any of your Grant's?
Hi Pat, No we have not got round to having DNA analysed yet. I guess that must be the next step so that we can confirm some of our "maybe" links. I will let you know when we get the results. John

Hi John

I came upon your request for info on the Grants very recently and wondered if you had found out what you wanted. George Grant is my direct ancestor and it was my great grandfather who was the informant at his death in 1888. Please let me know if there is anything I can help with.

Do you happen to be the descendant of the Robbs (Alexander and Ann with children Alexander, Isabella and George ) who lived in Jackson Terrace Aberdeen from around 1900 to 1914?

Best wishes Ian Bowman
