I did research on Ancestry.com, and in person at Wisconsin Historical Society Library and other public libraries. I found that this man was NOT my ancestor, but didn't want to discard what I have found re: his family including cemetery records. If you would like this info, let me know. The last 1/2 of any month is when I'll have the time to respond.

This post reflects one of the family myths I've dispelled:
Per my now deceased grandfather, we have this ancestor who was an officer in the Civil War. My research hasn't yielded anything, or too much. Without any other info, I have too many Ben Hayes to go through, and no way of thinning them out, other than approximate age. Any ideas?
