Comment by Al Hibbard on March 20, 2012 at 8:49am: I am interested in trying to connect my Hibbard line to other Hibbard families. In the middle 1800s, my gg-grandfather, Horatio Hiram Hibbard, was in St. Lawrence county (then later Franklin county) in New York. They moved to central Minnesota in the early 1870's. I am trying to locate Horatio's parents and grandparents. I believe that I have found a baptism record for him in 1817 in Quebec (Brome area) where he is the son of Horatio G. and Jane (or Jean). I suspect who this is but would like to verify. Does anyone know anything about Hibbards in this general area? I have other data that suggests a Horatio Hibbard was snowshoeing in the Bolton area (History of Bolton) and family lore has it that this father Horatio hiked around the Lake Champlain area. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
