In reply, I have Holliingsworth ancestry, too. You said earliest was John Hollingsworth, 1639, in England. My earliest was Henry Hollingsworth, born 1598 Segoe, Ireland. He married Catherine Cornish, born 1602, Armagh, Irelan.  Their son was Valentine Hollingsworth, born August 15,  1632, Sego, Ireland, an died 1711 in Delaware. He married Ann Ree, from Ireland. Do you think this Hollingsworth was a cousin or something to the Hollingsworth you refer to in England (John, 1639)? I understand that a lot of English did go to northern Ireland to populate it with protestants. Do you think that is whathappened with the Hollingsworths who went to Ireland?

My Hollingsworth ancestors trace back to Valentine Hollingsworth. They married into my Hawk ancestors.

My 9th generation - Henry Hollingsworth

My 8th generation - Valentine Hollingsworth born 1632 in Ireland and died 1711 in Newark, Delaware

My 7th generation - Thomas Hollingsworth born 1661 in Ireland and died 1727 in Newark, Delaware

My 6th generation - Jacob Hollingsworth born Jan 4, 1704 in New Castle, Delware and died May 5, 1766 in New Castle, Delaware

My 4th generation - Benjamin Hollingsworth born 1755 in New Castle, Delaware and died 1816 in Union County, South Carolina

My 3rd generation - Franklin Pierce Hollingsworth born June 7, 1798 Union County, South Carolina and died Dec. 25, 1882 Randolph County, Indiana

My 2nd generation - Rev Benjamin Hollingsworth born Feb. 5, 1824 in Randolph County Indiana and died Feb. 5, 1901 Story City, Iowa

My 1st generation - Rhoda Ellen Hollinsworth  born Nov. 7 1850 Keokuk, Iowa and died Oct. 3 1933 Martinsburg, Iowa
