Hi, my mother's father's name was Huber, and to my knowledge they came over from Germany (Bavaria?) in the mid-1800s. They appeared to come over straight to St. Louis and never left, being prominent members of the north city community called "Butchertown". My great-great grandfather John Phillip Huber arrived as a child or young man and eventually married a young lady named Magdelena Kimmling. His father is named John according to John Phillip's death certificate, but I have yet to find him in any other records.

Thanks,
Dave
