Marcellus Elmer Hutton was the oldest of 6 children born to William and Isabel Karbaugh Hutton. Then came Stephen (1868-1914, Ernest William (1871-1944), Charles Everett (1873-1950), Bertha Rose (1876-1955, and Franklin (1878-?) Marcellus and Charles were blacksmiths in Geneva, In. In 1897 Marcellus built his own building and went to business for himself. The building is still standing today with his name on the side. In this building he had a blacksmith shop,carriage building and paint shop. He also owned the first motion picture show in Geneva and owned half interest in a furniture store and undertaking establishment. His father, William, was a farmer. William had been married twice. Elizabeth Adams was his first wife. She died in 1853 in Darke Co., Oh and is buried there. He had 4 children with her. 2 boys and 2 girls. He then married Isabel Karbaugh in 1866.Isabel had been married previously to Henry (Harvey) Hathaway. They had two children before Harvey died in 1866.

Looking for information on my third-great grandfather, John Hutton, (1785-1859)  who is buried in Sauktown Cemetery in LaPorte, Indiana.

I believe John Hatton (4 Feb 1587 - 17 Jan 1649) is my 10th Great Grandfather.  I believe he was married to Dorothy Cole (1608 - 16 Jan 1649) and together they had at least four sons, Robert (1630 - 1687), John (1632 - 1702), Francis (1634 - 1687) and Thomas (1636 - 1680).  Regarding his parents, I have John Hatton (1554 - 1632) and Margareta Austin (born 1557).

Marcellus "Elmer" Hutton was b 26 Jun, 1867 in Darke Co.,Ohio. He died 28 Mar, 1949 in Fort Wayne, Allen Co., In. His father was William Hutton & his mother,Isabel Karbaugh. It was the second marriage for both of them. I am a direct descendant of this line through my grandmother, Dora Eva Hutton. I have much info & research on this family. Looking for as much information as possible on a John Hatton, B - Feb 4, 1587 - Claverly, Shropshire, England, Married Dorothy ???, Arrived in Virginia in 1613.  Would like to confirm his decedents and also any information about parents in England.

Through Y-DNA testing last summer I have confirmed that my Hutton line goes back to one of the 3 brothers that came over to New Garden, Chester County, Pa from County Carlow, Ireland.

I have traced my line back to John Hutton and Mary Parsons who were married in 1802 in Centre County, Pa and spent their whole life there.  My problem is that I am missing at least two generations of Huttons to figure out which of the 3 brothers we are related too.

I have new info on the Elmer Marcelous Hutton.  He was born in Ohio not Scotland as was noted before.  I found the correct info on a obituary of him in Indiana.  His Father was William Hutton Born 1817 in York Pa and Death Unknown and his wife was Isabell Karbough Hathaway Birth and Death Unknown.  William's Father was Benjamin Hutton Born: May 23 1789 in York Pa and Died: Apr 24 1864 in York Pa, His wife was Sarah Goodwin born: Jan 11 1789 York Pa and Died: Feb 10 1859 in York Pa.  Benjamin's father was Simeon Hutton born; Feb 17 1765 Newburry, Pa and Died: July 25 1837 and his wife was Mary Underwood.  Simeon's father was Joseph Hutton Jr. Born 1720 and his wife was Elizabeth Betty Willis.  Joseph Hutton Jr's father was Joseph Hutton Sr. Born:1693 and his wife was Mary Miller. Joseph Hutton Sr.'s father was Thomas Hutton Born:1657 and his wife was Sarah Starkey.  Thomas Hutton's father was John Hutton Born:1629 in Lupton, Westmorelandshire, England. and Died: 1684 in Killeagh Parish, County Cavan, Ireland his wife was Rachel Ladburner born: 1629 in Lupton, Westmorelandshire, England and died: Rainstown, County Carlow, Ireland. Now I have John's father as Thomas Hutton Born 1609 and wife Unknown.  if you have any info on the family I would be glad to share what I have with you.

New InfoI would like to add a father and mother to Elmer Marcelous Hutton (Marcelous Elmer Hutton) His father was William Hutton and his wife was Isabell Hathaway. I have no idea of where they were from Ohio is what I am guessing on now but who knows.

The family that I am looking for is Hutton as far back as Elmer Marcelous Hutton Born: June 22 1867 in Scotland / Died: Apr 1 1949 maybe in IN. Married to Cora Alice Golden Born: Jan 22 1869 in Oh / Died: June 21 1962 in maybe IN. Elmer came directly from Scotland. His mother was German father was Scotch. He own a blacksmith shop in Geneva, Indiana and he had the first movie theater in Geneva,over top his blacksmith shop.

Daughter: Blanche Hutton Born: Feb 19 1892 in Adams co. Geneva, Indiana. Husband: Clarence Shepard

Son: Donald Hutton Born: 1895 Geneva, Indiana / Died: May 1 1900 in Geneva, Indiana.

Daughter: Ruth Hutton Born: 1897 Geneva, Indiana Husband: Milton Leichty

Daughter: Esther Hutton Born: 1906 Husband: Herbert Castle.
